Day 243/365 - Falling Leaf

I liked the way the water drops reflected the bright sun. Look carefully, it's there. This is the same place I took the Day 242 shot.

Day 242/365 - Tree's at Watson Park

I re-visited Watson Park in Marlborough, MA. and took some more photo's. The sun was really bright and I saw what looked like a perfect shot with the sun and trees. Let me know what you think. And yes, the sun flare was planned. ;)

Day 241/365 - Power Lines Scenery

I drive by this on the way to work all the time. Today I figured I'd stop and get some photos. I don't think there's usually water here although at one point I think this was a stream, but I'm not sure. The water must be left over from Irene.

Day 240/365 - Road After Irene!

After the rain calmed down today I took a ride through a couple of towns to see the kinds of damage Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene caused for the local area. I got a lot of photo's of downed trees, but I think I have seen enough of those on Facebook, Twitter and the news today. So I just took this photo of a road. You can tell something happened because the road was covered in leaves. This was pretty much every road in town. I then made the photo black and white for dramatic effect and softened it up a little to blur it. Ok, well the blur may be because I wasn't focused perfectly, but you get the "picture" (pun intended). Let me know what you think. I took some risk to make it a little artsy. I hope you like it.

Day 239/365 - Holding a Seagull?

When I was at the beach, I saw someone actually holding a seagull. I asked him if I could take a photo of the bird in his arms.

Day 238/365 - Go Fly A Kite

If I had a nickel for every time I heard the phrase "Go Fly A Kite", I would have a bunch of nickels ;) I might even have enough wind with Hurricane Irene coming soon to fly a kite made of wood.

Day 237/365 - Surprise

I liked this photo for the splashing water effect. But a bonus was the expression on the woman's face from the cold water splashing against her back.

Day 236/365 - Just Water!

The subject in this photo is the ocean and just the ocean. No boats, swimmers or boogie boarders! Just water as far as the eye/lens can see.

Day 235/365 - My Water Shadow

As I have mentioned before, I like capturing shadows. So why not my shadow on the beach? Not very artistic and pretty much silly, but non-the-less, it's what I wanted to capture at the time. To me, that's what photography is all about. Enjoy!

Day 234/365 - Close-Up of Seagull

Before you ask... I don't have a seagull or bird fetish. Now that I have that out of the way and have your attention... I liked the composition of this photo.
TIP: When photographing small animals or other subjects low to the ground, it helps to get to their level. So I was pretty much on my stomach when taking this photo on the beach. Let me know what you think.

Day 233/365 - Young Feet In The Sand

A lot of the pictures I took at the beach were on the spur of the moment like the one of my daughters feet sinking into the sand. At the time I took it, I didn't think I was going to post this photo, but afterwards I thought it would be a good one. Let me know what you think.

Day 231/365 - Daddy, You Can't Catch Me!

Here is a photo of my daughter running from me. She wanted me to chase her. So I did. If you happen to go to Hampton Beach in the next couple of days, can you please look for her? She was so fast I couldn't keep up.

HAHAHAH Just kidding. She's home safe and sound.

Day 229/365 - Seagull in Flight

Birds are wonderful animals to photograph. When you capture them in flight I can't explain how that feels as a photographer, but it's a great accomplishment. Look at this photo a let me know what you think of when you see it.

Day 228/365 - Beach Photo

Finally a sunny day at the beach. I was able to bring out the color of the sky and the sand using HDR photography. Let me know what you think.

Day 227/365 - Heated Pool

Today went left for a couple days at the beach and guess what. It's raining. But the hotel had an outdoor heated pool which was very very warm. This was my first time swimming in an outdoor pool in the rain.

This photo is a photo right outside our room. You walk out and there is the pool. How cool is that? Unfortunately the WiFi sucks in this place, but the pool makes up for it.

Day 226/365 - Snap and Screw!

While I was at a local pond, I saw a family of three canoeing together. So as they were floating by, I snapped a bunch of photo's of them with the continuous mode on. That takes about 6 frames per second. I think the lady on the canoe was looking right at me in this one, it's hard to tell with the sun glasses. Keep in mind, I do not know these people, but I thought the shot said a lot so I took it. Then I ran to my car and drove off. As I was driving, I saw the family in my rear view mirror bringing the canoe up to the ramp. I wonder if they were trying to stop me. Oh well. I call that move 'The Snap and Screw'.

I am learning a lot about aperture and shutter speed in photography. Last night was a great opportunity for a moon shot. Let me know what you think.

Day 224/365 - Fisherdog

As I was taking some nature shots, this nice couple brought their dog along and allowed me to take some photo's of it while it was fishing. I can't remember the name of the dog, but I did send a copy of all the photo's I took to them via email.

Day 222/365 - Pollination

This is the closest I could get with out using a macro lens. I think that will be on my wish list for Christmas. Anyone have any suggestions for a decent lens? I have NIkon D7000.

Day 221/365 - Water Tower

I have always seen this water tower in the far distance when driving on Interstate 290 Eastbound. I'm not sure if it's actually used anymore. It is located in Marlborough MA right next to Stevens Park. About 1/2 mile from where I used to work back in the late 90's. I experimented with several different angles, but I liked this one the most.

Day 220/365 - Path At Stevens Park

I went for a photo walk during lunch today. There was a long path running through Stevens Park in Marlborough, MA. I thought the path was interesting looking because it didn't seem to end and I liked the curvature of it.

Day 216/365 - Boing, Boing, Boing

Today we put our first bouncy house up for our kids to enjoy. I captured my daughter in mid bounce with a few colorful balls. I so wanted to get in and jump with her, but I think I would only get a single jump in before the air escapes out of the giant hole that my weight would create.

Day 215/365 - Calling All Flower Experts

I went for a walk today and saw this flower just begging to be captured in all it's beauty just before it fades away into a brown brittle leaf. If anyone knows what kind of flower this is, please let me know. Enjoy!

Zune Pass Meets iPhone

Spotify is like having an unlimited Zune pass for less but can go to your iPhone. I was a real supporter of the Zune pass when I had a Zune. The Zune pass was all you can eat music for $15.00/month. Now for $10/month you can have that type of service on your iPhone. Check it out at spotify.com
