ReplayTV and Digital Networks suck!

Back in June, ReplayTV and their parent company Digital Networks announced that they were shutting down the replay TV guide service which would pretty much render the devices useless. So I looked for other means to fufil my familes DVR needs. There was a way to hack the ReplayTV and use it with another programming guide service, but this requires a computer running in your house, and I already have enough of those and the setup wasn't working for me. Yes of course I tried it. So I purchased 2 Tivo DVR, which really are pretty cool for what they do.

Today, ReplayTV and Digital Networks announced that they are not shutting down. All I have to say is WTF!!!!!! You tell me that you're shutting down, I then go buy two DVR's and get committed into a 1-2 year contract with Tivo's service come to find out you friggin jerks are not going away. I would have stayed with ReplayTV for a very long time, now It's silly to go back. You will not see one cent from me ever again so you might as well just go away for good!

Day 202/365 - Goodbye ReplayTV, Hello Tivo

In ten days, our old digital video recorders will be out of service because the company, ReplayTV, told us they are discontinuing the channel guide which makes it pretty much worthless without it. As of July 31, 2011 ReplayTV is shutting down the service that ruled the households television for many many years. At the time, ReplayTV was 10 times better than Tivo in my opinion, but now that that it's pretty much the only choice out there for a high quality DVR service, we have ordered two and they will be here tomorrow. I know I could have gone with Charter Communications DVR, but honestly, that company get's way too much money from me and I don't plan on giving them another cent, except for the cable cards they are renting me for the Tivo's. Anyways, as part of the promotion, Tivo sent us this plush toy (they say it's worth $15.00, hahahahah). The kids love it, so that's ok by me.

Day 192/365 - Bridge Over Pond

Today I went on a hike at Moore State Park in Paxton MA hoping to find some areas to capture. I found a few. Here is a bridge over the pond. If you look closely you will see a guy reading a book. This park is a great place to go and just get away from it all. You can find more information at www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/central/more.htm.

I was practicing my HDR skills. (High Dynamic Range) photography. I couldn't decide which picture to post so I posted both. They are the same composition, however, one is a realistic view and the other is a cool looking vintage shot. Let me know what you like/dislike about each photo. Day 190/365 - Japanese Maple (HDR)

Here is my first attempt at a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo. This shot was done in 3 exposures and they were blended together with HDR Efex Pro. This allowed me to get the things up close and the sky all in focus which camera's can't do very easily. I plan on doing many more of these. Let me know what you think.

Day 187/365 - Sweet Goodness

I am once again watching my calorie intake on a daily basis in an effort to drop a few more pounds. Of course I'm working out as well. However, It's hard when I see these treats in the cabinet. While salivating over these cookies, I was also looking for something to photograph for this project. I arranged them, got a little chocolate on my fingers and needless to say, one of these bad boys was KIA. 70 calories of sweet goodness. Do you know the name of this cookie?
